As the evening came to a close, the SiGMA Foundation saw spirited bidding over the paintings up for auction. First up, an oil on canvas from British artist Derek Mason showing an opulent looking gold Bitcoin – it went for E1000.?
Next up – another large piece donated by Derek Mason. The painting, Crypto Whales, sold for E2000. Nicely warmed up the crowd got into the spirit of things, with a friendly-competitive bidding war ensuing over Sandra Kowalski’s painting – Fiat to Crypto. The piece eventually went to the Ruby Family Foundation table. The artist is popular in the industry, with another of her paintings sold at the SiGMA Awards on Tuesday for the staggering amount of E55,000.?
Gnomevil’s digital artwork, The skull of Mr Burns, which is part of the Bitskull Collection brought in E250, and finally two large pieces from Derek Mason – a bull and a bear – brought the evening to a successful close after selling for E5000.
